Recycling is mandatory
in Lamoille county Vermont! Please read and follow
the guidelines stated below.
We pride ourselves on keeping the
rest rooms clean and encourage campers to help keep them pleasant for everyone.
We practice "green" camping and try to reduce the impact of our visitors on the
environment. You will be expected to help the environment by:
reducing the amount of solid waste- unpack your new
equipment at home, recycle waste in the containers provided, place appropriate
organic material in the compost bins located throughout the campground, return
deposit cans and bottles.
avoiding air and water pollution- burn only dry wood (for sale at the office),
dispose of all liquids properly (particularly near the well), no soap or other
foreign materials in the river.
respect plants and animals- do not harm the trees or wildlife and please do
not pick the flowers (leave them for others to enjoy), but help yourself to
the plentiful wild berries in season.
turn lights off in the bath house when not in use-
electricity here is "wicked" expensive.
The compost from previous years is going into a garden of herbs and flowers
that campers can help tend and harvest to use in their meals here or to
decorate the picnic table.
Camping supplies, including ice and food, are available at a convenience store 2
miles south and at a traditional Vermont general store or the hardware store in
the village of Jeffersonville, 3 miles north of the campground. The village also
has a bank with ATM' a coin-operated laundry, restaurants, and shops.
